PSIG News: February Meeting Recap February Meeting The February meeting of the Photoshop SIG was held on Thursday, February 14 at the North Hunterdon High School/Polytech School. The meeting began with a question-and-answer session that led up to the desktop printer experiment results. Desktop Printer Experiment Members brought in over 50 color prints from a variety of printers generated on a wide range of papers for comparison on the output color and quality. Prints were examined in two sets, glossy paper and non-glossy paper. The results were eye-opening, and while there were many prints that were in the "good to excellent" range, the 6-color Epson Stylus Photo 785EXP (list price: $199) produced results that were outstanding on both plain and glossy papers. Thank you one again to Walter Chandoha for providing the photo, and for all the members who participated in the experiment. Tutorial Movies, Lessons After the printer experiment results, tutorial movies were shown on the Photoshop 6 Print Options and the Color Range selection tool. Once again, time ran out before we could get to the hands-on tutorials, but Chairman Matt LaRusso ran through the tutorials on Creating a Vignette and Color Correction Using Curves. Both tutorials, as well as the files to try them on are available for download from the tutorial section of the site.
